Hello and welcome to Stewartgrangeart.com. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a native of East Yorkshire, England and am currently working out of studios in Minnesota and New Mexico. I studied at the Minneapolis School of Art in the 60’s and have been a painter and multi-media artist for over 50 years. As part of my work I have served as assistant to many international artists over the years such as sculptor Paul Granlund, printmakers Gene Larkin and Paul Olson, lithographer and etcher Elliot Silberman and Chilean artist Matta.
I have worked on environmental installations with artist Christo and Jeanne-Claude. I have also been employed as a senior design draftsman for various architects and planning departments including the Apple Valley Minnesota Zoo project.
My work has appeared in many international venues and galleries during both solo and mixed shows including:
Ferens: East Yorkshire, England
Hinges-Harsewinkle: Frankfort, Germany
Halle League: New York, New York
Minneapolis School of Art: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Lafonda: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Mariposa: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Engessers: Los Angeles, California
Reading and London Poly Tech.: London, England
Art Shanty Project of Medicine Lake: Minneapolis, MN

Music is my other passion. I perform and teach progressive banjo and guitar.
“I am now devoting all my time to creating works of art which incorporate a bit of humor and are just a little off the wall.”
